Sideband noise is amplitude noise plus phase noise
PRESELECTOR Term applied to filtering of the input signal before passing it to the input stages of the analyzer. In case of down conversion and harmonic mixing this ensures the removal of unwanted image frequencies and mixer products of LO harmonics. A preselector is also used to limit the band of the input signal in order to increase measurement dynamics (e.g. for EMI measurement).
