Ismaning/Chessington/Indianapolis, March 14, 2005 – Willtek Communications today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Instrumentation Engineering (IE), a company known for providing ATE system integration and high-volume test system manufacturing solutions to a variety of industries. This joint effort, announced at the CTIA Wireless 2005 show in New Orleans, helps both companies in their efforts to develop complete turnkey systems for mobile phone testing in the manufacturing environment.
Willtek Communications offers a complete portfolio of test equipment for the wireless industry, including communications test sets and shield enclosures for testing mobile phones and other wireless devices. Instrumentation Engineering brings to this partnership a unique capability of integrating these devices with other fully capable and versatile test instruments to offer the optimum manufacturing test solution.
"This partnership combines Instrumentation Engineering's expertise in manufacturing test with Willtek's impressive new product offerings to radically change the cost of mobile test development,” said Pat Cupo, President of Instrumentation Engineering. "The IE Mobile Test Platform not only optimizes test times but reduces the overall cost of test throughout the entire product industrialization process".
“I am excited about the new capabilities this partnership offers Willtek,” said Francis Paez, Willtek’s VP of Sales for the Americas region. “Our new relationship with Instrumentation Engineering will bring our services to the customer another step forward. Together we will provide a superior technical solution with outstanding performance, service and price,” he said.
The key to new systems developed as a result of this partnership is Willtek’s 4400 Mobile Phone Tester. The 4400 is the most cost-effective test solution for those in the manufacturing and service/repair markets requiring a multi-technology platform. By quickly testing GSM, GPRS, EGPRS, CDMA and Wideband CDMA terminals, the Willtek 4400 provides the lowest total test cost per device and drastically reduces production downtime because one system can easily switch from one technology to another.
“Our partnership with Instrumentation Engineering further demonstrates our commitment to the manufacturing segment,” said Paez. “Now we’ll be able to offer customized turnkey solutions that will enable customers to more effectively test their mobile devices.”
The IE Mobile Test Platform will be on display in the Willtek booth, #853, at the CTIA Wireless 2005 exhibition in New Orleans, March 14-16, 2005.
