Trilithic and Willtek Communications Announce Strategic Partnership to Better Meet Test Needs of CATV Market

Trilithic exclusive distributor of Willtek 9105 CATV Handheld Spectrum Analyzer

Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S., June 16, 2004 – Wireless test equipment vendor Willtek Communications announced today a strategic partnership with cable-TV (CATV) test equipment vendor Trilithic.  This new alliance names Trilithic as the exclusive distributor of Willtek’s award-winning 9101 Handheld Spectrum Analyzer to the CATV market.  Specifically, Trilithic will be the sole distributor of the 9105 CATV Handheld Spectrum Analyzer for the Americas region.

The Willtek 9101 Handheld Spectrum Analyzer is already the product of choice in many markets, including the wireless test market, winning the 2004 Best Test Product of the Year award from Test and Measurement World magazine in February 2004.  This new strategic partnership enables Trilithic’s experienced network of sales and marketing professionals to bring this outstanding product to the CATV market.

The 9105 CATV Handheld Spectrum Analyzer is a lab-quality spectrum analyzer equipped with CATV testing features. Best known for its small size and weight (approximately 5 pounds) and unique display, the 9105 brings all of the enhanced test features of a laboratory spectrum analyzer into a smaller, portable package.  This makes it ideal for the CATV market, specifically for headend technicians, and system or chief engineers.

The 9105 primarily will be used as a headend tool for required FCC quality testing and performance analysis.  In addition to conducting general spectrum analysis measurements, it also will conduct performance verification of headend equipment, fault analysis and measurement quality of difficult to find signals.

Other features that are important to the CATV market include: CATV channel plan, high-precision frequency counter, a  more than 65 dB dynamic range, TCP/IP connection, softkey menu structure with one button press operation, a color display, and data exchange software that allows users to transfer trace information, including limit templates, to a PC for easier management.

Willtek CEO and President Cyrille Damany knows the alliance is beneficial for Willtek. “This partnership strengthens Willtek’s product reach into other important markets. Our goal is to deliver quality test products to key industry segments, and this alliance ensures future growth and success in the CATV market.
