Ismaning/Chessington/Indianapolis, 28 July, 2004 – Willtek Communications now offers new calibration services based on its calibration laboratory, accredited to ISO/IEC standard 17025 by Deutscher Kalibrierdienst (DKD), a member of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC). The lab supports the service and manufacturing sectors with precise radio frequency (RF) measurements and equipment calibration through minimal measurement uncertainties. This will enable Willtek to provide its customers with even higher accuracy for its testing products like the 9101 Handheld Spectrum Analyzer and the 4400 Mobile Phone Tester Series.
Willtek's lab was first accredited in 1992 and with its recent accreditation to international standards can now provide enhanced calibration services for RF equipment. This has resulted in improved accuracy of Willtek's products and the availability of calibration services for Willtek's customers using RF instruments.
Willtek’s accreditation is filed under registration number DKD-K-08201 and ensures that measurements are documented and traced back to national measurement standards. Multilateral agreements in the European Cooperation for Accreditation (EA) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) ensure that calibration certificates issued by Willtek’s calibration lab are internationally recognised.
Calibration labs of the German industry and other institutions are combined in the Deutsche Kalibrierdienst, a calibration service organisation supervised to predefined criteria by Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (federal agency for physical and technical issues). The accreditation is related to measurement procedures and the persons carrying out the tests.
