Ismaning (Germany) and Cheadle Hulme (Cheshire, UK), 05 July 2007 – Following the TETRA World Congress in Madrid and the introduction of two new TETRA products, Willtek Communications today announced that it has joined the TETRA Association, a world-wide interest group of companies and organisations that further the development and application of the TETRA standard for professional mobile radio (PMR). In addition, Willtek substantiates its dedication to the PMR business by creating a new product line for PMR and LMR test products.
Tom Riedl, Product Marketing Manager at Willtek Communications, said: “TETRA and GSM-R are two radio technologies in the PMR business that have gained momentum over the last two years. The demand for affordable service test equipment is high and Willtek is happy to satisfy this demand. The PMR test business is of strategic importance for Willtek’s growth; that is why we are investing in the development and support of products for this market.”
Willtek recently introduced two new products for TETRA. The 8140 TETRA AirAnalyzer serves network operators and user groups for coverage and Quality of Service (QoS) measurements as well as protocol tests. The 2303 Stabilock TETRA Mobile Station Tester is used by service shops to check and repair TETRA mobile radios.
The TETRA Association, formerly the TETRA MoU, was created in 1994 and now counts about 150 members including user organisations, network and radio equipment vendors and test equipment manufacturers. TETRA users can be found in the public safety and security sector, the military, transportation, utilities and other industries.
