Willtek appoints new Managing Director |
Old face, new role: Matthias Weber promoted |
Ismaning (Germany), 23 April 2008 – Willtek Communications has announced the appointment of Matthias Weber as the new Managing Director at its headquarters in Ismaning near Munich. Test equipment vendor Willtek specialises on test and measurement solutions for the wireless industry, including service providers and manufacturers of mobile terminal equipment for cellular and PMR networks.
Mr. Weber said, “In my new role as a Managing Director, I will still keep an eye on the definition and introduction of new products to ensure that Willtek continues to provide easy to use, affordable test solutions and systems, not just boxes, for the various stages of mobile phone service and repair”.
Mr. Weber joined the company as a Product Marketing Manager in 1999 and served almost four years as its Director of Product Marketing. From October 1995 to September 1999 he served as Manager in Product Planning for Sony’s mobile phone division. Mr. Weber was responsible for the development of mobile phones, both Sony’s own development as well as the joint development with Siemens. From October 1989 to September 1995 Mr. Weber served at Schlumberger Technologies, first as a development engineer and later as a product manager for mobile phone test equipment. Matthias Weber holds a master degree of Electrical Engineering from Technical University, Munich, and an MBA from Open University Business School (OUBS, Milton Keynes, UK).
Paul Genova, CFO of parent company Wireless Telecom Group, Inc., continues to be associate Managing Director for Willtek. Wireless Telecom Group is headquartered in the New York City metropolitan area.
