9100 Series

D. Verifying a signal shape

Q: I have a graph of the expected signal shape. How can I test the actual signal from the unit under test?

A: You will want to apply the same settings as in the graph of the expected signal shape. The centre frequency of the 9100 is usually set to the carrier frequency and the span at least to the nominal signal bandwidth. Adjust the reference level for best resolution. You can optimise the resolution by decreasing the resolution bandwidth and the video bandwidth.
