G. Verifying and tuning the carrier frequency

Q: How do I adjust the centre frequency when the signal is modulated or non-sinusoidal?

A: Verifying that the signal (or carrier) frequency is correct is an important step to ensure proper communication or functionality of the unit under test. Adjust the centre frequency and the span to the wanted signal. Select the smallest possible resolution bandwidth to achieve the highest frequency resolution. Use the find peak function to place the marker at the frequency which is most likely the carrier frequency. Read out the marker value for the frequency.
