Regular checks ensure proper communication in critical missions
When police and other public safety and security officers assign their staff to a critical mission, the only way they can fully rely on their TETRA radios is if they are being tested regularly. Officers and managers responsible for communication tools have all TETRA mobiles frequently checked with the 2303 Stabilock. This is easily possible because the Stabilock is affordable, robust and easy to use with a few key presses. The 2331 Autorun Option even automates the measurements and the evaluation of results with a clear Go/NoGo statement.
Repair and alignment close to the user
TOnce a problem has been encountered, the local service shop needs to react quickly with repair so that the TETRA radio can be put into operation again soon. Thanks to the Stabilock’s accuracy and its high-contrast colour display, service technicians easily trace faults and align transmitter and RSSI. At the end of the repair process, the final test with the Stabilock ensures full performance before the radio equipment is returned to the user. Here again, the 2331 Autorun Option helps to produce consistent checks by automating the process.

Vendors of TETRA terminals typically organise repairs and quality checks in centralized service centres. A large number of TETRA radios are tested every day. For incoming inspection and final testing, the 2303 Stabilock in conjunction with Willtek’s Lector software and the 4914 Antenna Coupler provides a complete test solution. With this test system, testing the radios is quick, reliable and traceable!
Lector comes as part of a complete product family for test automation:
- 7311 Lector Basic provides test scripts for easy, fast and reproducible testing of TETRA radios with the 2303 Stabilock. Lector provides a simple test verdict. A test protocol is generated that can be printed and stored on a PC or a central server. This version is free and can be downloaded from Willtek’s website.
- In addition, 7312 Lector Enhanced provides error codes for fault finding. Several instances of Lector Enhanced can be run on one PC, supporting simultaneous testing of several TETRA terminals.
- 7315 Scriptor allows the test lab administrator to characterise TETRA radios with their coupling factors and supported channels. The resulting files can then be distributed to the Lector-equipped test stations.
For TETRA testing, Lector and Scriptor build upon the 2303 Stabilock with its 2331 Autorun Option. TETRA radios can be connected either through custom test adapters, or through Willtek’s versatile 4914 Antenna Coupler.
