Calibrating mobile phones

After exchanging an RF device in the mobile phone, repair centers need to re-align the transmitter and/or receiver of the phone. The 3100 Mobile Fault Finder and the 4400 Series Mobile Phone Testers support the alignment with special command sequences that are specific to the chip set. This is because chip set vendors define their specific methods for alignment, which are not standardized.

Read the following application note to learn how the RF characteristics is determined with the 3100 or 4400 in order to define a correction table which is then programmed into the phone!
