EDGE system option supporting non-call mode and call mode measurements. The option supports the GSM 850, GSM 900, EGSM, GSM-R, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900 systems. In call mode the option supports the simulation of an EDGE cell site with many optional parameters. Signaling supported: location updating, EDGE attach/detach, EDGE test mode A, channel change/handover (within frequency band and inter-frequency band). Supported measurements: EDGE Power, Power Time Template, RMS EVM, Peak EVM, 95% EVM, IQ Origin Offset and Frequency error measurements. The EDGE Option requires the GSM Option.
EDGE-specific Options
ACPM (ORFS) Option The adjacent channel power meter (ACPM) option adds the spectrum measurement capabilities to the 4400 series. ACPM distinguishes two different measurements: spectrum due to modulation and spectrum due to switching transients.
AM Signal Generator Option The AM Signal Generator Option provides an AM signal generator to the 4400 series.
Output power level: -10 dBm
Modulation frequency range: 1 to 50 kHz
Modulation depth: 50 to 90%
RAPID! Service Tests for 4400-GSM Automatic service tests written under RAPID! the 4400 series programming language for test automation. Tests include single- and dual-band tests of GSM 850/900/1800/1900 mobile phones. Configuration allows for automatic detection of attenuation losses with the help of a golden mobile phone.
Audio Option The audio option adds basic audio functionality to the 4400 Series: Direct connection of microphone and loudspeaker; the built-in generator stimulates the loudspeaker or microphone of the mobile phone; frequency, voltage, distortion and SINAD measured at the same time; spectrum analyser displays audio frequency spectrum; Multitone generation via wave files.
Basic Codec Option The basic codec adds the full rate speech codec functionality to the audio option.
Codec Extension Option The codec extension adds the enhanced full rate speech codec functionality to the audio option.
Parallel Multiple Phone Test Option The Parallel Multiple Phone Test Option allows connection of multiple phones to a 4400. The phones are tested sequentially in order to reduce setup time. This option is ideally combined with the 4940 Bi-directional RF port (4-port).
