With the TD-SCDMA options, Willtek fully believes in the success of and commits to the Chinese 3G wireless standard. The 4400 is the first communication test set supporting all major standards in one instrument, including TD-SCDMA. This enables mobile phone manufacturers to easily switch their production lines from one standard to another.
- First TD-SCDMA radio test set
- Supports measurements for the Chinese 3G standard (TD-SCDMA)
- Combines all 2G, 2.5G and 3G standards
The TD-SCDMA test solution based on the 4400 series covers following options:
4450 TD-SCDMA Non-Call Mode Option The non-call mode option provides basic signal generator and analyzer functionality. The signal generator generates a signal either without modulation (OFF-state), QPSK or 8-PSK-modulated. The analyzer allows basic TD-SCDMA measurements, i.e. output power, frequency error, modulation spectrum, Occupied Bandwidth (OBW), Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio (ACLR), Spectrum Emission Mask (SEM) and transmit modulation (EVM and PCDE). This option requires the 4479 Baseband Processing Hardware.
4451 TD-SCDMA Call Mode Option The 4400 with the TD-SCDMA Call Mode Option supports the call setup and all the important transmitter and receiver measurements required for validation, functional testing and calibration of wireless devices conforming to TD-SCDMA. The option can be operated independently of the non-call mode option, but requires the 4479 Baseband Processing Hardware. Features include:
- Registration, mobile originated call, mobile terminated call, call clearing by mobile and tester, inter-frequency handover (channel change)
- Reference Measurement Channel according to 3GPP TS 34.122 (RMC 12.2 kbit/s)
- Transmitter measurements: peak and mean power, min and max power, inner loop power control, open loop power control, transmit ON/OFF time mask
- Spectrum measurements: occupied bandwidth (OBW), adjacent channel power leakage ratio (ACLR), spectrum emission mask (SEM)
- Modulation quality measurements: error vector magnitude (EVM), magnitude error, frequency error, phase error, rho, I/Q offset, I/Q imbalance, constellation display
- Code domain measurements: peak code domain error (PCDE), code spectrum
- Receiver measurements: BER/BLER measurements
- UE Info with UE Measurement Report (e.g. UE power, P-CCPCH RSCP, path loss)
Willtek also offers turnkey systems and the know-how required to set up automated measurements in a production line. Please consult with one of our sales representatives to discuss your specific testing needs.

4479 Baseband Processing Hardware The hardware option is a prerequisite for the call mode and non-call mode options. It provides all hardware necessary for TD-SCDMA testing. The option is based on a new architecture which is technology agnostic and will ensure future enhancements to be software upgradeable.
